Aseana Foundation… Our Dream…

Building a Japanese garden in Downtown Shreveport was the brain child of Lumen Tindell and friends, all local residents of Shreveport, LA. The group formed the Aseana Foundation which oversees the re-development of the park.

The idea to create an Asian Garden evolved out of a dream and desire to give back to our community a taste of diversity and culture in an open forum that could be enjoyed by all Shreveport’s residents and visitors.

The city-owned Municipal Park Plaza located in downtown Shreveport, once a beautiful park was in need of a care giver and the Aseana foundation needed a Park for its garden. In January, 2006 this perfect match was formed to forge the venture that would give Shreveport its Asian garden.

Since that time many city workers, volunteers, and supporters from the media have come forth to give their time, efforts and donations to the re-building of the garden.

Our long term goal is to work with area parks that are in need of enhancements, transforming them into places of beauty to be enjoyed by all.

Join us in our efforts to re-create our parks; let’s make them places we are all proud of.

We have only just begun!
